Hello! It's wonderful that you're planning a trip to Montevideo, Punta Del Este, and Rocha. Here are some travel tips to assist you on your adventure.

Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit these locations in Uruguay is during the summer, from December to March, when the temperatures are warm and conditions are ideal for beach activities. However, if you prefer a quieter vacation, consider visiting during the shoulder season (October-November or April-May) to avoid the summer crowds.

Route and Accessibility:
You can take an international flight to Montevideo’s Carrasco International Airport. From there, take a bus or taxi to the city centre. To reach Punta Del Este and Rocha from Montevideo, you can rent a car or take a bus. The travel duration to Punta Del Este is about 2 hours and to Rocha is around 3.5 hours by road.

Accommodation and Booking:
All the locations offer a range of accommodations from luxury hotels to budget hostels. It’s recommended to book your accommodation in advance, especially during the peak summer season. Online booking platforms like Booking.com, Expedia, and Airbnb can be used to make reservations.

Clothing and Essentials:
For the summer, pack lightweight, casual clothing, a good pair of walking shoes, beachwear, sunscreen, and a hat. For the shoulder seasons, bring a few light layers as the evenings can be a bit cool.

Health and Safety:
Regular vaccinations, such as measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis, chickenpox, and a flu shot are recommended. Tap water is drinkable in Uruguay, and it's generally a safe country, but as always, exercise normal precautions to avoid theft or pickpocketing, especially in crowded areas.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Uruguayans are known for their hospitality and politeness. A handshake is a common form of greeting. Spanish is widely spoken, so knowing a few basic terms can be helpful. Uruguayans value family and personal relationships, so don’t be surprised if social events extend well into the night!
