Travel Tips

Currency: EUR Time Zone: Central European Time (UTC +1) Language: Spanish

Hello! That sounds like an exciting trip. Spain is a beautiful country with a rich culture and history. Here are some travel tips for your journey to Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia and Zaragoza.

Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit Spain really depends on what you want from your vacation. However, spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are generally considered the best times, as the weather is pleasant and the tourist crowd is less.

Route and Accessibility:
Barcelona is a great starting point for your Spanish adventure, thanks to its international airport and rail connections. Use the excellent intercity train services or fly to travel between cities. For Sevilla, Zaragoza and Valencia, consider taking the high-speed AVE train from Madrid.

Accommodation and Booking:
Spain offers a range of accommodations to suit your budget. Hotels, hostels, and Airbnbs are plentiful in all these cities. It's recommended to book in advance, especially if you're traveling during the peak season. Booking websites like Booking.com, Airbnb and hotels’ direct websites are good platforms for reservation.

Clothing and Essentials:
Pack light, breathable clothing and a light jacket or sweater for the evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, as you'll likely be exploring on foot quite a bit. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for protection against the Sun are essential too.

Health and Safety:
Spain is generally safe but stay alert in crowded places to avoid pickpockets. Tap water is generally safe to drink. If you need any medication, you'll find pharmacies easily in all major cities. It's always advisable to have travel insurance. Ensure you follow the local COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Spaniards are very friendly and welcoming. Brush up on your basic Spanish phrases, as this is greatly appreciated. Remember to respect the siesta (afternoon rest) time in smaller towns. Tipping is not mandatory, but is appreciated.
