Travel Tips

Absolutely! Here are some travel tips for visiting Cairo, Luxor, Hurghada, and Alexandria:

Best Time to Visit:
Ideally, visit between October and April. This is Egypt’s “winter”, but temperatures are quite balmy. Summer (May - September) can be very hot, especially in Luxor and Aswan.

Route and Accessibility:
Fly into Cairo, you can easily take trains or flights to Luxor and Hurghada. For Alexandria, it is recommended to take a road trip from Cairo, which is roughly 2.5 hours by car or bus.

Altitude and Acclimatization:
With the exception of the Sinai Peninsula, most of Egypt is near sea level, so altitude sickness is not a concern.

Accommodation and Booking:
Book accommodations in advance especially in peak seasons (December and January). There is a mix of luxury hotels, budget accommodations and tourist resorts, particularly in Hurghada.

Clothing and Essentials:
Respectful clothing, covering shoulders, chest, and knees is recommended especially when visiting temples, mosques and local markets. Pack a sunhat, sunglasses and sunscreen, it can get hot during the daytime.

Health and Safety:
Make sure you're updated with routine vaccinations before your trip. Be cautious about where you get your food and water—stick to bottled water.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Egypt is an Islamic country; respect their religion and traditions. When visiting religious sites, dress modestly. Use of Arabic greetings like "Salaam Alaikum" (peace be upon you) can be appreciated although not expected.

And, don't forget to haggle in the local markets! It's part of the culture and expected in places like the famous Khan El Khalili in Cairo.
