Hello! It's great that you're planning a trip to Mérida, Choroní, and Los Roques. I'm sure you'll have a great time exploring these beautiful Venezuelan locations.

Best Time to Visit:
Mérida is a year-round destination with a pleasant climate, but many tourists prefer the drier months from December to March. Choroní is best visited during the dry season which is from October to April. For Los Roques, the best time to visit is from August to October when the sea is calmer.

Route and Accessibility:
To get to Mérida, you can fly into Alberto Carnevalli Airport from Major Venezuelan cities. Since the airport in Mérida is sometimes closed, you might have to fly into El Vigía airport and then take a bus or taxi to Mérida. To reach Choroní, you have to first get to Maracay, either by bus or plane, and then take a taxi or bus from there. As for Los Roques, the only way of getting there is by a flight from Caracas.

Accommodation and Booking:
All three locations offer wide range of accommodations, from luxury resorts to simple guest houses. You can book them in advance via various online platforms like Booking.com or Airbnb. It's advisable to make your bookings in advance especially if you're traveling during the peak season.

Clothing and Essentials:
Pack lightweight and breathable clothing for the coastal areas of Choroní and Los Roques. Don't forget your swimwear, sunglasses, and sunscreen. For Mérida, it can get quite chilly in the evenings, so light sweaters or jackets are recommended. Also, pack a good pair of walking shoes as you'll be doing lots of walking and hiking.

Health and Safety:
Ensure you're up-to-date with routine vaccines before your trip. It's advisable to get travel insurance that includes medical evacuation, in case of any health emergencies. Tap water isn't always safe to drink in Venezuela so it's recommended to drink bottled water. Exercise usual safety precautions like avoiding isolated areas at night and keeping an eye on your belongings.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Venezuelans are very friendly and warmly receive tourists. It's important to respect the local customs and culture. Dress modestly, especially in rural areas. It's also customary to greet people with a kiss on the cheek.
