Travel Tips

Sure, Uruguay is a wonderful choice with its beautiful beaches, historic towns, and vibrant culture. Here are some travel tips for your visit to Montevideo, Carmelo, and Punta Del Este:

Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit Uruguayan cities like Montevideo, Carmelo, and Punta Del Este is from October to March, when the weather is warm and welcoming.

Route and Accessibility:
From Montevideo, you can take a bus or a car via Route 1 to Carmelo which takes about 3 hours. From Carmelo, you can take a bus or a car via Route 21 and Route 10 to Punta del Este which takes about 4-5 hours.

Altitude and Acclimatization:
All the three places are coastal cities and are pretty much at sea level, so you needn’t worry about altitude sickness.

Accommodation and Booking:
Booking accommodations in advance is always a good idea especially during the peak season (December - February). There are a number of options ranging from luxury resorts to economical hostels.

Clothing and Essentials:
Summer clothing is ideal for the day, with a light jacket for cooler evenings. Don't forget your swimwear, sunscreen, and sunglasses for beach time.

Health and Safety:
Stay hydrated and use sunscreen to protect against strong sun. Always ensure the safety of your belongings.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Uruguayans are very polite and respectful. When greeting, it is customary to give one kiss on the cheek. Also, tipping is customary in restaurants and for services.

Have a fantastic trip!
