Travel Tips

Currency: EGP Time Zone: Eastern European Time (UTC +2) Language: Arabic

Hello! It's exciting to hear that you're planning a trip to Egypt. Here are some travel tips for your journey:

Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan would be between October and April. The weather during these months is cooler compared to the summer months. Avoid peak summer (June, July, August) due to extreme heat.

Route and Accessibility:
The main international gateway into Egypt is Cairo International Airport. From Cairo, you can take domestic flights, trains, or buses to Luxor and Aswan. Nile cruises from Luxor to Aswan are also popular.

Accommodation and Booking:
Egypt is packed with accommodation options to suit all budgets. It's recommended to book your rooms in advance through reputable booking websites or agencies. Ideally, in Cairo stay in Zamalek or Downtown, in Luxor, near the Nile or Luxor Temple, and in Aswan, the Corniche is a good area.

Clothing and Essentials:
Dress modestly to respect the local culture. Women should cover their shoulders, knees, and cleavage. Carry essentials like sunscreen, a hat, bottled water, comfortable shoes, and a scarf for dust and sun protection.

Health and Safety:
It's generally safe to travel to these cities. Avoid drinking tap water and always buy bottled water. Avoid uncooked vegetables and street food to prevent food-related illnesses. A travel insurance covering medical expenses is recommended.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Egyptians are known for their friendliness and hospitality, but it's important to respect the local customs. Attempt to greet in Arabic, which can often elicit warm responses. Tipping, or 'baksheesh', for services is expected.
