The most common and convenient route is to fly to Paro International Airport, the only international airport in Bhutan. From Paro, you can drive to Thimphu which is about 1.5 hours away. Punakha is approximately another 2.5 to 3 hours drive away.

Altitude and Acclimatization:
The altitudes in these cities are Paro (2,195m), Thimphu (2,334m) and Punakha (1,200m). Acclimatization is generally not a problem in these regions but do keep yourself well hydrated.
