Travel Tips

Absolutely! Cape Town, Stellenbosch, and Franschhoek are fantastic destinations offering a mix of beach, mountains, vineyards, and much more. Here are some travel tips:

Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit Cape Town is from late January to late April, the South African summer where temperature ranges from 15-27 degrees celsius. The same applies for Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

Route and Accessibility:
Cape Town is a major city connected by flights from many major countries. From Cape Town, Stellenbosch is about a 45 minute drive, and from Stellenbosch, Franschhoek is only about 25-30 minutes by car.

Altitude and Acclimatization:
All three destinations are at sea level, so there's no need to worry about altitude sickness.

Accommodation and Booking:
Book your accommodations well in advance due to high tourist interest. All three places offer a wide range of options from backpacker hostels to luxury hotels.

Clothing and Essentials:
Pack summer clothing but include a few warm shirts and trousers, a windbreaker or jacket is also helpful for chilly evenings. Don't forget your swimsuit, sunblock, hat, sunglasses and a good pair of comfortable walking shoes.

Health and Safety:
Practise regular health safety measures such as having travel insurance. Stay hydrated and take care of your belongings. It's safer to avoid less busy areas after dark.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
South Africans appreciate politeness, so always greet before asking for something or starting a conversation. Keep your dressing modest and remember to tip at restaurants, which is usually around 10-15% of the bill.

Lastly, Cape Town and its neighbouring towns are in a water crisis, so be mindful of your consumption.
