Travel Tips

Currency: JPY Time Zone: Japan Standard Time (UTC +9) Language: Japanese

Hello! That's a great choice of cities in Japan you're planning to visit. Here are some travel tips for a smooth journey.

Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit these cities is during the cherry blossom season (March-May) or in autumn (September-November) when maple leaves change color. Avoid Golden Week (end of April to beginning of May) when the Japanese take their holiday.

Route and Accessibility:
You can easily reach Tokyo, the first destination, via flights from major international airports. For travelling between Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, the most efficient method is by Shinkansen, commonly known as bullet trains, particularly if you have a Japan Rail Pass.

Accommodation and Booking:
There's a wide variety of accommodation options in these cities, from capsule hotels to traditional guesthouses (Ryokan) and high-end hotels. It's best to book in advance, particularly during peak periods like the cherry blossom season and autumn.

Clothing and Essentials:
Pack clothes according to the season. Light clothes in summers, layers of warm clothes in winters. Don't forget your comfortable walking shoes as there'll be a lot of walking. Also, don't forget your travel adaptors (Japan uses Type A/B outlets).

Health and Safety:
Japan is generally safe for travelers. However, it's always good to take standard travel precautions. Keep your valuable items secure and always have travel insurance covering both health and travel disruptions.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Japanese people are very polite and respectful. It's customary to greet with a bow. Remove your shoes before entering a home or traditional restaurant. It's considered disrespectful to talk loudly on public transport.
